Michael A. Lyons, 64, of Elkhart, IN, born February 1958 in Long Beach, CA, departed this life Friday April 29, 2022, to be with our loved ones who have preceded him in death.
Michael, a.k.a. Mike, was a senior toolmaker by trade. He could work through problems most would give up on. People he worked with would go to him to solve problems because they knew he would fix it.
He was an amazing Father and Grandfather. He loved his children and Granddaughters with a fierceness that cannot be described by words. He was not afraid of changing the diapers of his children and Granddaughters. He loved being a dad and Papa, as his Granddaughters call him. He had patience and amazing grace when it came to his children and Granddaughters.
In 2019 he met a woman that changed his life. It was love at first sight and just felt right. There is no doubt God had his hand in putting them together. On April 15, 2022, she became his wife.
Michael was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. This played a huge roll in his entire life. He had a special bond with his son-in-law who is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. “Once a Marine, always a Marine. Semper Fi!”
Mike is preceded in death by his Father Billy Raymond Lyons, his Mother Dolores Jane Lyons, his Brother Robert Lee Lyons, his Uncle Lewis M. Lyons, his Aunt Bonnie D. “Rusty” Lyons, and his wife’s daughter Amy M. Bracken.
Mike is survived by his wife Cynthia D. Lyons, his daughter Valin M. Dorman and her husband Raymond E. Dorman III, his sons Logan A. Lyons, and Kyle L. Lyons, his Granddaughters Karmen M. Milakovic, and Briana M. Milakovic, his wife’s children, Victoria A. Reed, Jerry W. Bracken, and Barbara L. Mautria, his sister Sylvia Crosby, his nephews Dan Crosby, and Tim Crosby, his cousin Steve Lyons, and his wife Terry Lyons.
To say that Mike will be missed is an understatement. This world is a lesser place without him.
At Mike’s very strong request, no funeral will take place. He is being cremated. A party he requested to celebrate his life will take place at a later date.
