Nina Lynn Chadburn

In the morning hours of January 9, 2026, Nina walked across the rainbow bridge. This was a deal she had made with God to see her fur babies first thing. We will miss her, but she will be welcomed with open arms by so many.

Nina Chadburn was born Nina Lynn Newcomer on May 1, 1947, in South Bend, IN, to Robert and Wilma Newcomer (Wickizer)

Nina spent most of her adult life as a nurse. Starting her career at St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka and working the last 33 years at Elkhart General Hospital.

Nina enjoyed watching her shows, cooking, buying jewelry, gathering with family and friends, and worshiping the Lord. Nina had a deep and loving relationship with the Lord. Some of her fondest memories were her and Skip’s trip to Isreal. Nina was at peace, and knew she was going home.

Nina is survived by her siblings (Bob and Tom’s kids), Robert Newcomer (Nancy), David Newcomer (Claudia), Anne Sanders (Jack), Debra Hosey (Glen), Tania Arthur (Gwen Gentner),

She is proceeded in death by her loving husband, Skip Chadburn, her parents, Robert and Wilma Newcomer, all her many fur babies, and her first, love Sonny Bell.

Nina will be deeply missed on this earth, by so many. But shed no tears. She won the lottery and got to go first. She is so happy, surrounded by so much love and peace. She is looking down, sticking out her tongue and saying, “I made it guys and it’s wonderful!”

A celebration of life will be held at Nina’s church on a later date.
