Norma Julia Holmes

Norma J. Holmes, 86, of Mishawaka passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, after prolonged struggle with COPD and other serious illnesses. Norma was born April 2,1935 in St. Joseph County, IN. She was the only daughter of the late Ernest and Kathryn (Bubb)Tirotta and niece of Fred J. Bubb. Norma is survived by her only brother Michael Tirotta of Cape Coral, FL. Also, surviving two daughters, Gina (Greg) Frederick of Granger, IN. and Vicki (John) Boyle of Marblehead, MA. Four grandchildren, Christopher (Christinei) Frederick of Westfield, IN., Randall (Brianna) Frederick of Grapevine,Texas, Ashley Boyle of Arlington, VA., Alicia Boyle of Alexandria, VA.and two great-grandchildren, Kendall and Collin Frederick of Westfield, IN., along with many nieces and nephews. Norma graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1953. She married her high school sweetheart, Wayne R. Holmes on February 6, 1954, who preceded her in death. In her early adult life, she worked as an accounting secretary and became a mother of two daughters. In 1969, Norma moved to Arizona with her family where she became an early female trailblazer in the field of Real Estate during the 1970’s - 1990’s. Norma was awarded numerous “MAME” Salesperson of the Year awards from the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona. After returning to Mishawaka, Norma settled back into a family home with her beloved husband, Wayne, There she spent 15 years caring for Wayne after his massive stroke until his death in 2011. Norma’s family would like to thank all the staff of BellTower Health & Rehabilitation Center and Grace Hospice for their help. No services are scheduled at this time. A private memorial service is planned for 2022
