It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pamela Ruth Pickler, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us far too early on February 12, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on April 15, 1948, in Flint, Michigan, Pam was a beacon of love and kindness whose legacy will forever illuminate the hearts of those she touched.
Pam was the cherished daughter of the late Martin and Ruth Baker and was predeceased by her brother Doug and sister-in-law Ellen Baker. Her family roots were deeply planted in love and unity, values she carried throughout her life and imparted to her own family.
She is survived by husband Roy Pickler, son Jason Pickler (married to Sara), son David Pickler (married to Amber) and daughter Kate Nicely (married to Damon), as well as her adored grandchildren, Owen, Ryker, Finley, Kinslee and Faryn. She is also survived by her brother Norm Baker (married to Jan).
Pam and Roy shared a love story that spanned decades, proving that true love is patient, resilient, and never truly says goodbye. Together, they built a life rich with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support, a testament to enduring love and commitment. They raised three remarkable children, each with their own gifts and talents, but all three with great senses of humor.
Pam dedicated her career to education. She began her journey teaching special education and later devoted herself to nurturing young minds through the Head Start program. Her students were always "her kids," and she celebrated their growth and achievements as if they were her own, often sharing stories of their victories and their hijinks. Her contagious smile and servant's heart left an indelible mark on everyone she met, turning classrooms into havens of learning and love.
Her kindness knew no bounds. Pam's generosity and warmth extended beyond her family, as she effortlessly turned acquaintances into lifelong friends. Her smiling eyes and warm embraces were a source of comfort, and her ability to reignite friendships, no matter the time or distance, was truly remarkable.
A service to honor and celebrate Pam's life will be held at River Oaks Church, located at 58020 Co Rd 115, Goshen, IN 46528, on February 28, 2026, with visitation 1 PM to 3 PM and service at 3:00 PM. In remembrance of Pam's generous spirit, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Bashor Children's Home, a cause close to her heart. Contributions can be made at https://bashor.org/GETINVOLVED/Donate.aspx.
