MISHAWAKA-Richard J. Jankowski, 80, passed away September 27, 2021, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. He was born February 9, 1941, in South Bend to Leo & Eleanor (Samulski) Jankowski.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Keith Jankowski and a niece.

Surviving are 3 children, Annette (Robert) Clapper, Steven (Liz) Jankowski, Rodney Jankowski, 6 grandchildren, Sarah Clapper, Skylar (Bryan) Owsley, Matthew (Jillian) Clapper, Evan Clapper, Alexis Jankowski, Takota Jankowski and 1 great-granddaughter, Zoie Owsley. Also surviving is a sister, Deloris (George) Coulon, 4 nieces and a nephew.

Richard worked at Notre Dame for 20 years until his retirement. He was an avid Notre Dame Fan, Green Bay Packers Fan, and NASCAR Fan. He enjoyed fishing, was past president of the Westside Conservation Club, and an Axillary member of the VFW in South Bend.

Per his wishes there will be no services and cremation will take place.

Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
