Richard F. Kindel, Sr.

Richard F. Kindel Sr., 83, of Goshen, IN, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at his residence. He was born on November 24, 1941 in Lansing, MI, to the late L. C. Kindel and Meral (Kellogg) Kindel.

Richard was self-employed as a residential construction contractor for ten years, and later, worked as the maintenance director for the Goshen Parks Department for 17 years prior to his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara E. (Dolan) Kindel; four children, Richard F. (Veronica) Kindel Jr. of Goshen; Robert (Nancy) Kindel of Chiefland, FL; Jim (Katherine) Kindel of Greensburg, PA; and Jilann Shultz of Mishawaka, IN; stepson, Bryce Morris of Goshen; stepdaughter, Monica Morris of Bloomington, IN; brother, Larry Kindel of St. Johns, MI; sister, Kathleen (Walter) Kinsey of St. Johns, MI; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a stepson, Robbie Morris.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Contributions can be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society, 54687 County Road 19, Bristol, IN 46507.

Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with his arrangements.
