Elkhart- Richard W. McCreary, Sr., 80, of Elkhart, died Thursday March 25, 2021 at Courtyard Healthcare in Goshen. He was born February 1, 1941 in Middlebury, Indiana to Lloyd M. and Marjorie (O’Dell) McCreary, Sr.

He married Shirley A. Jellison and she preceded him in death on January 22, 2020 in Elkhart. Surviving are 2 sons, Richard W. (Kimberly) McCreary, Jr. of Goshen, IN, Larry M. (Kristi) McCreary of Elkhart; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 brother David (Joyce) McCreary of Goshen and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley and 9 siblings.

Richard enjoyed blogging and at one time wrote a book. He was a US Navy veteran and a pastor for over 30 years.

Cremation will take place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. Elkhart Cremation services is entrusted with his care.
