RICHARD LEE SCOTT

August 8, 1939 – September 23, 2025

ELKHART- Richard Lee Scott, 86, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday September 23, 2025, at his residence in Elkhart.  He was born August 8, 1939, in Bourbon, Indiana to Jerry Dewey & Edna Christina (Bradbury) Scott.

On June 20, 1965, he married Aloma Marie Schutz.  She preceded him in death on September 12, 2021.  Surviving are 2 children, Christina (Douglas) Krugh of Elkhart, Michael Scott of Papillion, NE; 9 grandchildren, Dustin Hoy, Michael Hoy, Jarod Krugh, Jessica Scott, Allison Scott, Peyton Scott, Alexis Scott, Brittany Krugh Courtney Reaper; 7 great-grandchildren, Mason, Elijah, Ember, Aubrey, Edith, Kinsley and Abigail.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and 3 sisters, Betty Lou Scott, Bonnie Jean Scott and Virginia Ruth (Scott) Richardson.

Richard was employed as an accountant at Bock Industries and Cover Master in Elkhart.  He was a former member of the Dunlap Lions Club, a trustee with the Lions Eye Bank, a member of the 2 Cylinder Club and a band dad with the Concord Marching Band.  He enjoyed working on Maytag Washing Machine engines and old John Deere engines.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday October 18, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Dunlap United Methodist Church.  Pastor Melissa Englehart will preside, and burial will be private at a later date in Prairie Street Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family for 1 hour prior to the service at the Church.
