August 11, 1952-May 6, 2026
GOSHEN-With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Ricky Lee Grose, aged 73, on May 6, 2026 in Goshen, Indiana. Ricky was a loving brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and a true friend to many.
Born on August 11, 1952, Ricky grew up with his twin brother Randy, who was his best friend. Surrounded by a large family, he spent his time as a child playing and working with shovels and dump trucks, both toys and real. His true passion was ignited when his father established Rainbo Lanes in 1964. The Lanes became a source of employment, entertainment, and long-lasting relationships for many years. Ricky was one of the most knowledgeable, loyal, and versatile employees for as long as the business existed.
After graduating from Concord High School in 1970, Ricky followed in his father’s entrepreneurial footsteps by establishing K&K Painting, which he named after his children Klaus and Kasey. He was well known for going above and beyond for his customers with his fair pricing and his generous nature for always doing a little bit more. He officially hung up his paintbrushes and rollers in 2012.
After his retirement, Ricky enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an original Beatlemaniac and had spent years curating a collection of Beatles albums and memorabilia. He was a long-time fan of the Miami Dolphins and enjoyed his treasure trove of items that reminded him of Florida and the ocean. His knowledge of classic television is unsurpassed, especially when it comes to shows like The Andy Griffith Show, Bonanza, and Rawhide, and Ponderosa.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Grose; his mother LaVerna (Payne) Grose; and his twin brother Randy Grose. He is survived by his children Klaus Grose (Pauline Martinez), Kasey (Ronnie) Cooper, granddaughters Kaylin Grose and Klairece Sweet, grandson Gunner Cooper, sisters Rachel (Craig) Koch, Melissa Grose, nephews Colin Grose, Colby, Aidan, and Quinton Koch.
Per Rick’s wishes, no services will be held. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or the American Lung Association.
As the Fab Four sang in the song “The End,” the love you take is equal to the love you make. Ricky’s life was spent loving his friends and family, so he will take an abundance of love with him to the next world.
Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
