Robert Horvath Obituary

Robert (Bob) L. Horvath, 79, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away on September 20, 2025. Born January 1, 1946, in South Bend, Indiana, Bob was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Miller) Horvath, whom he married on May 19, 1979.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Horvath (Pecsi); stepfather, John Pecsi; stepson, Lawrence Jennings Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Dennis Beehler and Raymond Miller Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marilyn; his children, Michael Horvath (Michelle), Michele Andrews (Ryan), stepson Lance Jennings (Wendy), and stepson-in-law Adam White. Bob was the proud “Papa” to his grandchildren—Max Horvath, Caleb Jennings, Junah Seymour, and Cian Seymour. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Virginia Beehler; brothers-in-law Clifford Miller (Linda) and Merle Miller (Katie) and many nieces and nephews.

Bob served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. After his military service, he began his career at Pricket’s Supermarket, owned by Mayor Pricket, and later retired as Maintenance Supervisor at Martin’s Supermarket after 30 years of dedicated service. During his time at Martin’s, Bob formed many lasting friendships with colleagues, who admired his steady work ethic, his humor, and his willingness to help both at work and beyond.

Known for his skill and generosity, Bob was the go-to handyman for family, friends, and neighbors—always willing to lend a hand with any home repair or project. His kindness and reliability left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to neighbors Don and Carol Holmes and their grandson Homer; Lenny and Valerie Wozniak; Bruce and Heather Berta; and Larry and Tammy Rodts for their unwavering support. A very special note of gratitude is extended to Virginia Beehler, Tommy January and Elara Caring Skilled Home Health and Hospice Care for their exceptional care and compassion in assisting with Bob’s needs.

Bob will be remembered for his devotion to family, his work ethic, his friendships, and his steady, dependable presence in the lives of those around him.

Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.  Those wishing to honor Bob’s memory may do so with a donation to the St. Joseph County Special Olympics, PO Box 643, Mishawaka, IN 46546
