Robert Stump Obituary

Robert “Bob” LeRoy Stump, 82, originally from Constantine, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024. Born on April 30, 1942, in Michigan, Bob grew up in Constantine, where he graduated in 1960. After a fulfilling career as a certified tool and die maker, Bob retired, embracing the freedom to pursue his passions. He loved to travel and spent many winters in Mississippi, Florida, North Carolina, and Colorado, making lasting memories along the way.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel “Sam” and Marian Ruth (Kindig) Stump; his sister, Catherine “Kay” Roberts; his brother, Clarence “Butch” Stump; his niece, Renee (Roberts) Granzotto; and his nephews, Tim Easterday and Mark Roberts.

Bob is survived by his three beloved daughters, whom he cherished deeply: Vicki (Monte) Taber of Elkhart, IN; Chrissy (Tony) McVay of Little Switzerland, NC; and Joanne Dreher of Colorado Springs, CO. He also leaves behind his dear sisters, Doris Easterday and Betty Lucas, along with his cherished grandchildren, Nicolas (Jordan) Cornett, Alyssa Dreher, Brendan Dreher, Alix (Noah) Strati, and Devan McVay, and his great-grandchildren, Kai Cornett, Sawyer Cornett, Charlee Strati, and Vinny Strati. Bob is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

Bob’s zest for life was evident in everything he did. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether it was fishing, mushroom hunting, golfing, or bowling. His competitive spirit shone brightly in his love for card and board games, particularly Euchre, dominos, and Aggravation. Above all, Bob treasured time spent with his family, friends and, especially, his daughters. His fascination with watching alligators in Florida reflected his deep appreciation for nature and the beauty of life’s little wonders.

Though Bob’s passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him, his legacy of love, humor, and warmth will live on in the memories he created.

A private service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations, in Bob’s memory, be made to Covered Bridge Farm County Park, 56705 Covered Bridge Road, Three Rivers, MI 49093 or call 269-467-5519.

Bob will be dearly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
