Rogene Jarrett Obituary

Rogene Etta Jarrett, 89, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away on January 31, 2026. She was born on January 1, 1937, to Melvin and Sally Brady.

Rogene’s life was rooted in family. She spent many years living in Indiana, and while her daughters were still at home, she treasured annual family trips to Hawaii, building memories that would be talked about for years to come. In 2002 she and her husband Ralph became proud “snowbirds,” enjoying summers in Indiana and winters in Phoenix, Arizona.

Earlier in life, Rogene worked as a flight attendant for Pan Am Airlines, a role that fit her outgoing nature and love for people. She also spent many summers at local fairs with Ralph, first selling Electrolux vacuums and later Hawaiian jewelry, always enjoying the conversations and connections that came with it.

Her faith was a central part of who she was. Rogene was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1971 and her beliefs shaped the way she lived her life—with love, hope, and genuine care for others.

On February 14, 1964, Rogene married the love of her life, Ralph Eugene Jarrett. They shared many happy years together until Ralph’s passing in April of 2009.

Those who knew Rogene knew how deeply she loved her family and how much she wanted everyone around her to be happy. She loved get-togethers, laughter, and dancing—and she was often one of the last to leave the dance floor. Rogene also had a flair for style; she loved dressing up, wearing heels, and bright makeup, a sparkle she kept even in her later years.

She is survived by her brother, Aroy (Sybil); her daughters, Debbie (Brad) and Tonya (Maurice); her step-sons, Steve and Dave; her grandchildren, Tanya, Malia (Derrik), Tia (Mac), Ariana, Gavin, and Trent; and her step-grandchildren, Robin and Lori; and her great-grandchildren, Olivia, Xavier, Evan, Jasmine, McKenzie, Oliver, Storm, Emilia, Maverick, and Florence.

Rogene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Eugene Jarrett, and her parents, Melvin and Sally Brady.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21st at 3:00 p.m. at the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses – Elkhart South, 25448 County Road 22, Elkhart, IN 46517.

She will be remembered for her love of family, her joyful spirit, her faith, and the warmth she brought into every room she entered
