Ronald Eugene Humes

Ron Humes, 83, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife Sharon; his children Laura and Brock; granddaughter Faith Tipsword and her husband Brad; and two cherished great-grandchildren, Trevlin and Titus.

Ron proudly served in the United States Army and later enjoyed a long career with WR Birkey and Associates before retiring. Known for his deep love of family, friends, America, and animals, Ron brought kindness and humor to every room he entered.

A man of many talents and passions, Ron built his own dune buggy and found great joy in driving and tinkering with it. His hands were rarely idle, and his heart was always open—whether he was sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or simply enjoying time with those he loved.

In accordance with his wishes, Ron will be cremated at Elkhart Cremation Services, and no formal services will be held. The family invites those who wish to honor his memory to consider a donation to Black Pine Animal Sanctuary in lieu of flowers.

Ron’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed.
