Ronald Strzelecki Obituary

Ron passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 12, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

Ron was born in South Bend, Indiana, on January 11, 1950, to Virginia (Gadacz) Strzelecki, who preceded him in death.

On January 11, 2007, he married Laura J. Miltenberger, who survives along with his children, Ronald Ryan (Denise) Strzelecki, Amy Bradburn (Ray Ginter), and step-daughter, Gloria (Cory) Scheibelhut; and grandchildren, Dylan Bradburn (Alyssa Vanator), Carter Bradburn, Emily Strzelecki, and Sydney Strzelecki. Ron is also survived by his sisters, Ruth (Dennis) Dulcet and Linda (Dave) Krzyzaniak; nephew, Andy Dulcet; and nieces, Stephanie (David) Decker and Kim (Kyle) Hueston. Ron was preceded in death by his beloved niece, Kelly Ann Dulcet, and grandparents, John and Mary (Ciesiolka) Gadacz.

Ron grew up helping on the family farm in Terre Coupee and was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School. He completed his apprenticeship with IBEW Local #153 in 1972 and was a proud member for 55 years. He enjoyed farming with Randy at Szczypiorski Farms for over 20 years.

He was a member of PNA #83 Fisherman’s Club, Bassmasters of Northern Indiana, and PNA #3078 where he enjoyed playing euchre with “the guys” on Friday nights.

In his younger years, Ron enjoyed drag racing his 69’ Nova. He was an avid fisherman and fished hard! He loved the many hours spent fishing with his dear fishing buddies, Jim Tisdale, Mike Hendricks and Jim Sexton. He loved playing cards and games, watching NHRA racing, and reading Stephen King and Clive Cussler books. He especially loved having cookouts and spending time with family and friends around the campfire.

Ron enjoyed talking to anyone he came in contact with, made friends easily, and touched the hearts of many. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and would do anything for you. He could always find a way to fix anything that was broken. He never let anyone’s birthday pass, without calling them to sing or sending them a card.

Per Ron’s request, there will be no funeral service. However, a celebration of life luncheon will take place at Polish National Alliance (PNA) #3078, 55969 Tulip Road, New Carlisle, IN, on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 12:00-4:00pm EDT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PNA #3078.

Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with his care.
