Ronald Martin Werntz

SOUTH BEND- Ronald Martin Werntz, 77, of South Bend, IN, passed away Thursday March 5, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.  He was born July 28, 1948, in South Bend, Indiana to Charles R. & Eva Frances (Martin) Werntz.

 He married Patricia Izdepski who survives.  Additional surviving relatives are a son, Dietrich A. (Emily) Werntz of South Bend, IN; 1 brother, Michael D. Werntz of Lakeville, IN; 1 niece, Abby (Phil) Hoffman of Greenwood, IN; 1 nephew, Michael D. (Gayle) Werntz of Osceola, IN and 4 great nieces and nephews, Emma, Zachary, Seth and Garrett.  Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and a half- brother, Charles Allen.

Ron graduated in 1966 from North Liberty High School and was formerly employed as a photographer.  Ron enjoyed riding his Harley- Davidson Motorcycle, taking pictures and doing oil paintings. 

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday July 25, 2026, at the Pinhook Park Pavilion in South Bend, IN.

Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with his care.  Memorial contributions may be given to River Bend Cancer Services.
