Ruperto Hernandez, a devoted father, community member, and hardworking man, passed away on March 2, 2026. He was born on August 1, 1947. Ruperto lived a life centered on family, service, and dedication to those around him.
Ruperto was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family, working diligently throughout his life. He took great pride in being part of a large, loving family and cherished the time he spent with them.
Outside of work, Ruperto had a deep passion for running and staying active. He also dedicated many years to coaching youth soccer in his community, where he positively impacted the lives of many young athletes. His encouragement, patience, and love for the game made him a respected mentor and role model to the children and families he coached.
He is survived by his beloved wife Martha for 46 years, and his beloved children: Juan Hernandez Elias, Anthony Hernandez, Raúl Hernández, Julia McGaha, Anjelica Chavarria, Remedios Hernández, Francisco Hernández, and Daniel Hernández. He also leaves behind a large and loving family including 30 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Urbano Hernandez (75), Amelia Hernandez (73), Pablo Hernández Casarez (68), Roberto Hernandez Casarez (66), Josefina Hernandez Casarez (65), Raul Hernandez Casarez (61), Ma. Guadalupe Hernandez Casarez (58), Rogelio Hernandez Casarez (55), Jose Luis Hernandez Casarez (53), Maria Concepcion Hernandez Casarez (50), and Mario Hernández Casarez (45).
Ruperto will be remembered for his kindness, determination, and the love he shared with his family, friends, and community. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday March 12, 2026, at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Elkhart, Indiana, at 3:00 PM, with visitation from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
Ruperto will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
