OSCEOLA-Ruthig “Sam” F. Leatiota, 61, passed away January 18, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born June 24, 1960, in Pago Pago, American Samoa.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents, Faleulu & Tauileve Leatiota, adopted father, Meafeu Laolagi, and several siblings, Susan, Faga, Foimai, Faavae and Mu.
Surviving is his adopted mother, Beverly Allen, 10 siblings, Vicki, Shelly, Lynne, Jon, Tina, Faafetai, Fealoai, Faleule Jr, Falefasa, Solipo, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Sam’s family meant the world to him, and he considered many of them like children. He played a big part in their lives and there will forever be a void in their hearts.
Because his family was so important to him, his favorite thing to do was to attend events for his great-nieces and nephews, including being their #1 fan at rugby, football, and baseball games, choir concerts and all school events.
Sam was a member of the St. Joseph County Pool League, avid fisherman, Pittsburg Steeler fan, and loved to play poker. He also cherished his time and memories with his Cheers family.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.
Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
