On November 15, 2020 Saundra (Sandy) Gay Calhoun, age 77 passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She was born February 16, 1943 to Harry and Fern Plunkett in Delphi, Indiana.
She was a free spirit who loved all creatures. Her love for nature was admirable, her thumb greener than the grass that grew in her yard, you could always find her tending to her flower garden. Her garden was peaceful, her windchimes with the trickling sound of her birdbaths and pond waterfalls bringing a sort of tranquility to every conversation had with her. Her smile shone as bright as the sun on the beautiful, cool mornings she often enjoyed with a cup of coffee setting next to her porch swing. Her presence always brought a sense of confidence and stability; she was someone who knew what she wanted and poured love where she felt it was needed most.
Sandy was a family-oriented woman who felt the most joy surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roger Calhoun. She has four children, Julie Floyd, Roger Calhoun Jr., Lisa Reames, and Jennifer Gray. She and Roger have a handful of grandchildren (10) and great grandchildren (13).
Cremation will take place and a private family celebration of life service will be held in the spring of 2021. Elkhart Cremation services is entrusted with her care.
Memorial contributions may be given to Faith Mission.
