ELKHART- Stanley K. Hoover, 68, of Elkhart, died Tuesday January 11, 2022, at the Center for Hospice Care in Mishawaka. He was born June 15, 1953, in Elkhart, Indiana to Leonard E. and Ruth M. (Lorenz) Hoover.
He married Lee Ann Schwab who survives along with 3 children, Samuel (Debra) Hoover, Ruth Anne (Luke) Hoover Gentry, Seth (Jamie) Hoover; 4 grandchildren; his mother, Ruth M. Hoover; 3 siblings, James (Kay) Hoover, Carol (Dave) O’Neil, John (Fran) Hoover and numerous nieces and nephews. Stan was preceded in death by his father Leonard Hoover and a niece Michelle O’Neil.
Stan worked as a supervisor at Golden Rule in Elkhart, was a minister with Light of Life Church in South Bend which he started in 1989 and was presently employed as an exterior sales coordinator for Lowe’s in Elkhart for the past 10 years. He was a member of ABATE for over 20 years, member of HOG for 22 years, a member of CMA since 2005 and was a founding member and chaplain of Rhema Riders South Bend Chapter. He did jail ministries for the South Bend Correctional Facility and did bible studies and services at Elkhart Place.
Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice Care or to God’s Kitchen in Elkhart.
