GOSHEN- Stephen Case Fried, 79, of Goshen, Indiana, died Saturday April 30, 2022, at his residence in Goshen, Indiana. He was born January 9, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio to Moses and Phyllis Jean (Case) Fried.
On November 24, 2001, in Louisville, Kentucky he married Ann Lynette Urbanski. She survives along with 2 children, Pamela (Stacy) Pearson of Franklin, TN, Andrew (Dana) Smith of Muskegon, MI; 5 grandchildren and 5 sisters, Kaye Hamm of Shelbyville, KY, Fannie (Bill) Timmer of Louisville, KY, Sharyl (Roger) Emberton of Frankfort, KY, Toby Fried of Maysville, Ky., and Andrea (John) Neichter of Floyd Knob, IN. Also surviving is his mother Phyllis Case Fried of Frankfort, KY and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a granddaughter Haley Sue Hubert.
Stephen graduated in 1962 from Flemingsburg High School in Flemingsburg, KY. He served in the Army National Guard from 1964 till 1970 and received an honorable discharge. Steve was a 32nd degree mason, was a history buff, enjoyed golfing and traveling to the many National Battlefields. Steve was an LPN at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida, was a private duty in home care giver and was a district director for Stride Rite Shoes.
He also worked for Claiborne Farms in Paris, Kentucky in the early 1970’s and enjoyed giving (Secretariat) apples and mints.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Steve may be given to The Hailey Sue Foundation at www.thehaleysuefoundation.org.
A celebration of life service for Steve will be held Sunday May 22, 2022 at 4:00 PM at the Trinity United Methodist Church at 2715 E Jackson Blvd. Elkhart, In 46516
