Terry “Butch” Lee Fore, 78, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 4, 2021. He was at his earthly home when he made his final journey to his real Home. Butch was born in Elkhart on December 30, 1942 to Oscar and Inez Fore. On May 1, 1971, he married Victoria Gentzhorn. His wife of 49 years survives him and will miss him greatly. Terry’s two brothers, Robert Fore and Wendell Fore, preceded him in death, as well as his parents. He is also survived by his daughter, Tiffany Fore.
Throughout his lifetime, he was a devoted son, husband, father, and friend. He especially enjoyed sports and went for over 20 years to Notre Dame women’s basketball games with Tiffany. In addition to sports, he loved to travel and go to the store and always had the motto “Go while you can!”. Cars were a passion of his—he had over 100 before he married—and he had many fun trips with friends to the car shows and car races.
Butch was the absolute best husband to ever have and he always loved Victoria deeply. He was a gentle, quiet, humble soul who made friends easily and was very generous. In his work at Miles (Bayer) for 42 years, he was faithful and dedicated, yet he always came home eager to be a family man. Additionally, he invested in youth through basketball coaching with his daughter. His advice, steady easy-going spirit, kindness, and humor will be missed by all who knew him but especially his family.
An obituary can never truly capture a life that has been as well-lived as Butch’s. Too many people squander life, but Butch truly lived it and he will be missed more than words can say. Our only comfort is that he is with Jesus and has heard the words “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”.
According to Butch’s wishes, he was cremated and will not be having any services. He never liked all that attention anyway.
In lieu of any flowers, please donate, if desired, to RETA (Reason Enough To Act) in Elkhart on High Street.
