ELKHART-Born Thelma Pauline Williams on August 26, 1940 to James E. Williams and Dorothy M. (Suttles) Williams, in Three Rivers, Michigan. She was the seventh of nine children. Thelma married James E. Curry, January 15, 1972. Thelma worked as a machine operator at Dana (formerly Elecromation) on C.R. 6 in Elkhart, Indiana until she retired in 2002. She is survived by her two children Troy (Makeeba) Curry (Elkhart), Tanita (Charles Harris) Curry (Elkhart), and stepson Warren Curry (Cincinnati). Three grandchildren, Marquise (Khyreshia) Curry, Ashlee Curry and DeVondre'a (Iesha) Curry. Three sisters, Mae Warrick of St. Louis, MO., Dorothy Jones and Nell Guy both of East Lansing, MI. Four step-grandchildren, nine great - grandchildren and thirty step great - grandchildren and, a host of nieces and nephews.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband James E. Curry, two brothers, James E. Williams Jr. and Cecil Williams. Three sisters, Ruth Christopher, Helen Meredith and Mary Thrash, and stepdaughter Pamela Curry.
Thelma was loved by everyone that she crossed paths with. She had a very beautiful and infectious smile along with a big heart. A memorial service will be held at a later date in honor of Thelma.
