A longtime Elkhart resident, Thomas J Konanz died shortly after midnight on August 8, 2024. He was 72 years old.

Born in Elkhart, IN on December 29, 1951 to Guy and Martha Konanz, Tom spent his first 15 years in Mishawaka with his mother Martha (Swinehart) Konanz-Stevens, and moved to Elkhart at her death in 1967. He graduated from Jimtown High School in 1971 and in the years after became known around Elkhart for his friendly personality. In 1989 he met and married Vickie (Arnold) Micinski, loving her for over 30 years. She predeceased Thomas in January, 2021.

Tom was very involved in The New Testament Bible Church in Elkhart, supporting and assisting in their many ministries over the years. Tom was also an avid student of the Bible, and so with his excellent memory he would often win first place in bible knowledge contests.
