It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tracye Marie Pickett, an incredible daughter, a loving mother, caring niece and cousin, and a remarkable friend. Tracye was 58 years old.
Tracye, born on September 5, 1966, to Curt Pickett and Nancy (Sissom) Frost in South Bend, Indiana, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Tracye went on to graduate from Elkhart Memorial High School in 1985. In 1993, she welcomed a daughter into the world, Courtney Marie.
Friends from her time at ADEC, the Special Olympics, and at her home in the Rosedale High Rises, were very near and dear to her. If you didn’t find Tracye crafting or doing a puzzle, you’d find her watching her favorite… cartoons! Family came first and was above all else to Tracye, a value she instilled in all those around her. She was the best at remembering birthdays—her calendar was full of them! The hole left by Tracye’s absence is impossible to fill.
Tracye was preceded in death by grandparents, Robert and Nell Pickett; grandparents, Buford and Gladys Sissom; father, Curt Pickett; stepfather, Melvin Frost; aunts, Dot, Peggy, Charlotte, Fay, Cathy; and uncle, Leon.
Tracye is survived by her mother, Nancy Frost; brothers, Robert Pickett (Tracy) and Shane Frost (Kandi); daughter, Courtney Yoder (Brock); grandbabies, Poppy, Rocky, and Honey Yoder; nieces and nephews, Zach Pickett (Elizabeth), Kristen Ellison (Tyler), Brody Frost (Madi), Karlee Taylor (Drew) and Sierra Frost; aunts, Joyce and Debbie; uncles, Kieth and Johnny; and many, many, MANY cousins, whom she loved dearly.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate Tracye’s life on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Riverview General Baptist, 1201 E. Indiana Avenue, Elkhart, IN at 11:00am with a short visitation starting at 10:00am. Friends and family are invited to join in remembrance and support.
We know Tracye is with her newly found Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her many family members rejoicing in Heaven!
Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with her care.
