Troy Hite Obituary

NILES, MI-Troy A. Hite, 57, passed away March 29, 2026, peacefully from natural causes, while surrounded by loved ones at the Raclin House the Center for Hospice Care.  He was born October 15, 1968, in Charleston, SC to Deborah Coleman and Thomas Hite.

Troy spent most of his life rooted in Michigan, loving the beauty and nature in the upper peninsula most of all.

He was known for his strong will, unwavering loyalty, and fiercely protective nature.  He was the kind of man who showed up when it mattered most-always willing to lend a hand to those he loved.  While he carried a tough exterior, those fortunate enough to truly know him experienced his deep, warm, caring, and outgoing spirit.  Troy found peace and meaning in the outdoors.  Whether hunting, fishing, or simply standing among the trees.  Troy felt a connection to nature that reflected his view of life itself-steady, enduring, and deeply rooted.  Trees, to him, symbolized life, strength, and freedom.

Professionally, Troy dedicated nearly 25 years to paralegal work. Yet his true passion lived in his art.  A talented and proud journeyman tattoo artist since the late 1980’s, Troy found joy in expressing himself through tattooing and drawing.  He carried his craft with pride, always eager to share his experiences and stories with anyone who sat in his chair.

Troy will be remembered for his strength, his loyalty, his artistry, and the quiet depth of his heart.  His presence leaves a lasting imprint on all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Sue-Ellen (Andrew) Whitman, 4 grandchildren, Logan, Riley, Olivia, and Lucas, his brother, Thomas (Rhonda Snyder) Hite, his sister, Wednesday (Chad) Whitaker, several nieces, nephews, and his loving girlfriend, Ashley Osban.  Also surviving are 2 friends that were like brothers, Donnie Britton and Zac “Perro” Rodriguez, and many more.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Troy will truly be missed by more people whose lives he touched than he could ever have realized.

Per his wishes cremation will take place and there will be a celebration of life gathering at a later date.
