Victor Woudstra Obituary

Victor Woudstra, 76, passed away February 4, 2024, at his home in Elkhart surrounded by family.  He was born August 28, 1947, the 6th of 8 children to John & Leona (Secord) Woudstra. 

    Surviving is his wife of 46 years Kathy (Lancaster), children, Scott (Amber) Woudstra, Shawn (Heather), Woudstra, Stephanie (Mike) Rantz, grandchildren, Kevin, Evan, Kaydence, Paisley Woudstra, siblings, Jerry Woudstra, Benny Woudstra, Mary (Curly) Blackshear, Elsie (Rudy) Golden, sister-in-law,  Ronda (Richard) Woudstra, brothers-in-law, Steve Lancaster, Phillip (Cindy) Lancaster, many nieces and nephews all whom he loved dearly and his dog, Sailor.  Also surviving are several unofficial adopted children and grandchildren, Shannon, Joe, Lauren, Matt, Jared, Josh, Adam, Ryan, Dezzy, Brian, Arin, Luke, Heather, Amara, Anthony, Katlyn, Shannon Jr., Kai, Zoey, Jaxyn, and so many more. 

  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Richard, John, Henry, sister-in-law, Elaine, brothers-in-law, Curly, Rudy, father-in-law, Raymond, mother-in-law, Mary, whom he cherished and his best friend, Bruce, and most beloved dog, Skeeter.

  Victor lived his first 29 years in Hastings, MI working for Fisher Body by GM in Lansing, MI and after a bad snow mobile accident and other various jobs he met Kathy and they moved to Elkhart for work.  They were married December 16, 1977 and started their lives and family together.  He worked at Auranco Ent for 14 years and then Damon Corp. before becoming and independent contractor delivering R.V.’s all across the U.S. until his health no longer allowed.

  He was an avid deer hunter, providing freezer meat for his family, extended family and friends.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and had a very special bond with his grandchildren, especially Paisley.  Victor and Kathy traveled everywhere and even took many cruises. 

  He was liked and loved by everyone and will be greatly missed while he’s on his next great adventure.

  Per his wishes cremation will take place and a celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.

  Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
