Virginia Coddens Obituary

 

ELKHART-Virginia L. Coddens, 90, passed away July 8, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.  She was born October 8, 1929 in Wolfe Lake, In to Esta & Alice (Swihart) Hill.

 

  On June 26, 1954 she married Kenneth Coddens; he preceded her in death on November 28, 2002.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Rick Hill. 

  Surviving is 2 children, Cris Coddens, Curt (Cathy) Coddens, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 siblings, David Hill, Donna Gibson and Ruth (Jim) Smeltz. 

  Virginia was a Fuller Brush representative from 1976-2018 and was also a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.  She was devoted to being the caretaker for her son Cris.  In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and attending church and church gatherings. 

Visitation for family and friends will be 1 hour prior to the 11:00 am Mass on Friday July 24, 2020 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1331 North Main St. Elkhart, In. 46514.  Presiding will be Father Jason Frieburger.  Burial will follow in Adamsville Cemetery. 

  In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions to Curt to assist in continuing the care for Cris.

  Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
