Vivian M. Freed

Vivian M. Freed, 100 years old, of Elkhart, IN, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Brentwood Assisted Living.  She celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends in Dunedin, Florida, where she has spent her winters for the past thirteen years.

Vivian was born on April 5, 1924, in Edwardsburg, MI, to Miles and Alta (Casper) Wrigley. Her family moved to the River Park area of South Bend, and she was in the first class to graduate from John Adams High School.

In 1944, Vivian married Jack Freed while he was in the United States Army, stationed in Miami.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Flossie Keller of South Bend; and her nephew, John Keller of Stevensville, MI.

Surviving are two children, David (Pam) Freed of Fairborn, OH; Susan (David) Buckley; two grandchildren, Eric Buckley of London, England, and Brent Buckley of Topeka, IN; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place. Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with her care.
