Wayne Plank Obituary

Wayne D. Plank, 74, passed away November 24, 2021 at his home in South Bend.  He was born November 18, 1947 in South Bend to LeRoy & Margaret (Kiefer) Plank.

  On February 14, 1992 he married Jane Wickersham; she survives along with 3 children, Donna (Jon) Seibel, Wendi (Mark) Heyliger, Wade (Rachel) Plank, 3 grandchildren, Andrew Lipp, Cayde Heyliger and Kiefer Heyliger, and a beloved dog, Toby.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Dean Plank, John Toth, and a sister, Judy Plank. 

  Wayne graduated from Clay High School in 1966 and then entered United States Navy where he proudly served during the Vietnam War.   He was an automotive mechanic at many dealerships over the years until he started J & W Integrity Auto, which he ran for 15 years.  He was a member of Granger Community Church, former Bring It Car Club, National Street Rod Association and Studebaker Drivers Club.  Wayne had a passion for cars, a love for God and spreading God’s word. 

  A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Huntly Memorial Baptist Church, 1139 Huntly Road Niles, MI 49120.  Following the service there will be light refreshments served. 

  Memorial contributions may be given to the ALS Association. 

  Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
