Yvette C (Garceau) Jung

Yvette Carolyn Jung (Garceau), aged 75, of Sturgis MI passed peacefully on Good Friday, April 7, 2023, after a long battle with Parkinson’s.

Yvette was born on June 9, 1947 in Chicago IL to Napoleon Joseph Garceau and Marsha Carolyn Garceau Oates. She was the oldest of 6 Garceau siblings - Rene, Jacques, Michael, Arthur and Marsha (Meg). She also had 3 Garceau half siblings - Yvonne, Joe and Ruth Ann. Yvette spent her early life in Chicago, attended DePaul University and worked as a paralegal at a downtown law firm. She met Randall L Jung on a blind date while he was in the Air Force and they married on May 2, 1971. Randy and Yvette settled in Sister Lakes MI and later Sturgis MI. Yvette was a homemaker but also spent countless hours volunteering in schools and the community. She enjoyed photography, graphic design and crafting. She later graduated from Davenport College and worked for Glen Oaks Community College and Klinger Lake Country Club. One of her greatest joys was working in her daughter and daughter-in-laws’ classrooms. She and Randy never missed a chance to get together with friends and family and loved to hang out until the very end of the night!

Yvette is survived by her husband of nearly 52 years, Randy Jung of Sturgis MI; her children Jenna (Jeff) Labash of Union MI and Matt (Sarah) Jung of Ada MI; her grandchildren Addie, Brinley and Grayson Jung; her siblings Arthur Garceau of Gridley KS and Meg Garceau of Winfield IL; her half sister Yvonne Gorski, numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.She was preceded in death by her mother, father and step-father, brothers Rene, Jacques and Michael, as well as her half-sister Ruth Ann Vito and half-brother Joe Garceau. We are comforted knowing that she is at peace and surrounded by many other loving family.

Per her wishes, Yvette has been cremated. The family will host a Memorial and Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the American Legion, 500 W. Chicago Road, Sturgis MI  49091. Food and beverages will be provided. Please bring any pictures or good memories to share. The family looks forward to this time to remember and share Yvette and her amazing life.
